What Is Sports Counseling?
For competitive athletes, sports are a way of life. A great deal of daily existence revolves around practice, preparation and competition. Every aspect of an athlete’s life can be impacted by their sport, including academics, family, friendships, time management, scheduling, nutrition/weight management and emotional health. Sports counseling helps athletes create and maintain balance and respond to the demands of a lifestyle where the sport is a priority and focus.
How Will Sports Counseling Make Me a Better Athlete?
Todd is a sports counselor who intentionally and thoughtfully gives attention to the areas of life that impact athletic performance and enjoyment. This extends to components of your world outside of sports as well. Todd provides athletes with the tools, resources and opportunities to achieve maximum performance in both sports and personal life.
How Is Sports Counseling Different From Sports Psychology?
Although there is some overlap between the two, Sports Psychology primarily focuses on performance enhancement in competition and within the athlete's sport. Sports Counseling helps the athlete manage all areas of life that impact athletic performance and enjoyment while simultaneously managing the demands and challenges of life outside of sports and competition.
